The Wake Forest Farmers’ Market will offer seasonal vegetables, meats, crafts, and baked goods from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 5, in the depot parking lot on South White Street.

The opening reception for the 14th annual Wake Forest Area Artists Studio Tour will be held Friday, Sept. 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Powell-Luddy House on North Avenue.

The three candidates for the District 1 seat on the Wake County Board of Education will debate Thursday, Sept. 10, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Wake Tech Northern Campus on Louisburg Road (U.S. 401). The public is invited.

Pottery Fest 2009 will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Under the Oaks on East Wait Avenue. Expect to find wonderful pottery from local potters, demonstrations of potter-making techniques, activities for children, and food. The event is free. The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 13.

The fall quarterly meeting of the Wake Forest Historical Association will be Sunday, Sept. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Stony Hill Family Life Center. Curtis Harrison will relate the history of the Stony Hill Community. Louis Jackson will provide the displays and arrangements. The meeting is free and open to everyone.

The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce will present a forum Tuesday, Oct. 13, for the two candidates for mayor and the five candidates for two town board seats. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. in the Wake Forest Town Hall.
