            The Wake Forest Human Relations Council will meet Thursday, July 23, at 7 p.m. in the courtroom at the Wake Forest Police Department building next to town hall.

            The Wake Forest Farmers’ Market will offer seasonal vegetables, meats, crafts, and baked goods from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 25, in the depot parking lot on South White Street.

            The first event in Wake Forest’s newest park, the E. Carroll Joyner Park on Harris Road, will be a Concert in the Park on Sunday, Aug. 2, featuring the Big Fat Gap Band. Turn out at 5 p.m. to tap your feet for two hours to back porch-style bluegrass. The concert is free.

            The Wake Forest Town Board will hold a work session Tuesday, Aug. 4, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in town hall.

            The Wake Forest Planning Board will meet Tuesday, Aug. 4, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in town hall. An agenda will be published in the Gazette’s July 29 issue.

            Join the officers of the Wake Forest Police Department in celebrating National Night Out Tuesday, Aug. 4, with family activities and fun in front of SuperTarget on Retail Drive from 5 to 9 p.m.

            The Wake Forest Town Board will hold its annual mid-year retreat Friday, Aug. 21, beginning at noon. The place will be announced later.

            The B.W. Wells Association’s annual meeting will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, at Rockcliff Farm.

            The fall quarterly meeting of the Wake Forest Historical Association will be Sunday, Sept. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Stony Hill Family Life Center. Curtis Harrison will relate the history of the Stony Hill Community. Louis Jackson will provide the displays and arrangements. The meeting is free and open to everyone.

            The voters in school board District 1 will elect a new board member on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

            The Autumn Arts Festival will be held in downtown Wake Forest Saturday, Oct. 10.
* * * *
            Wake Forest voters will elect a mayor and two commissioners Tuesday, Nov. 3.
